Westcoast Plastering Inc in San Jose, California

I had a horrible experience with this business. We had worked with them as a subcontractor to stucco my house. To describe the owner as shady would be generous. I had two serious issues with him. First, he initially quoted a price well above what I was expecting to pay and I said we could negotiate it through my GC. Apparently, behind the scenes he told the GC the price was agreed upon with the owner and just started work. All the while he had nothing in writing. Obviously, when I found out I wasn't particularly happy about it. When my GC brought this up with him, he threatened multiple times to put a lien on my property (which of course he couldn't because he had nothing in writing) for the initial quoted amount. Second, when the work didn't come out well (which it did not) and needed to be fixed, he basically started stalking me, texting me, demanding payment. Again he was threatening a lien. He found my family in the backyard of our house on the weekend and texted me multiple times during the weekdays trying to intimidate me. All in all, my GC ended up working things out with him and the work was eventually cleaned up to a reasonable state. I was still on the hook for more than I wanted to pay but I eventually gave in to be rid of the guy. Stay away.
